This photo shows the kind of love every parent will recognize.
Taipan Lucio ( also known as El Kapitan) Tan rushed to the hospital Monday morning after hearing that his son and namesake was fighting for his life.
The 85-year-old Tan was escorted to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center where his son, Lucio “Bong” Tan, Jr. eventually passed away just two days after he collapsed in the middle of a basketball game.
Seeing your critically ill son or daughter is one of the most draining and difficult tasks a parent can face.
It was a big loss to the family and the family’s business empire as the younger Tan was recently appointed as president and COO of PAL Holdings, the parent firm of flag carrier Philippine Airlines. Tan is survived by his wife and two children.
Deepest condolences to the Tan family.
