Ren Cayetano, brother of House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano, got ripped off.
Airline seats have become precious commodity with carriers racking up extra fees from advance seat assignments.
On his Facebook account, Cayetano accused PAL of deceiving them into paying more.
“Seat reassignment is Philippine Airlines latest scam,” he said.
Cayetano said his wife received an email from PAL informing her that she was downgraded and would receive only $100 even if the price difference was $300.
“Paging DTI, PAL downgraded us. No other info, just got an email. Upon checking, they will offer usd 100 daw. What the??? Fare difference is about $300 one-way and they offer $100. If this isn’t a SCAM, I don’t know what is!,” he said.
“When my wife was handed down her downgraded boarding pass, there was no apology, explanation or offer for refund from PAL. There was no mention that she was downgraded or in a new section. Parang wala nangyari. Di man lang sinabi na nadowngrade sya o nab ago seat nya,” he added.
“The Heart of the Filipino? Or the scammer of the Filipino? I think scammer is more appropriate. Return passenger overpayments now!,” he said.
