Is Grab trying to dominate the rise-hailing app market by diving into Angkas territory?

Grab Philippines announced it was planning to ride on the habal-habal hype by bringing back from the grave GrabBike, a service killed by authorities years ago.

Grab said it was “seriously considering to re-invest” in motorcycle through GrabBike service, apparently spurred by the success of Angkas and new entrants JoyRide and Move It.

“Grab has prepared its approach for reviving its GrabBike service, and is ready to present to the LTFRB and the DOTr anytime it is asked to,” ABS-CBN reported.

Angkas’ CEO Angeline Tham actually harvested the idea and business model as head of GrabBike before starting her own company.

Is this vengeance?
