Grab Philippines’ trial run for a new security measure that will record video and audio during rides kicked off Monday.
However, going by early responses from passengers, some are against it as it could amount to an infringement of privacy.
Netizen Ana Margarita Sanchez called out Grab Philippines for one unfortunate ride.
It wasn’t even a rude driver or a bad route but the GrabCar she got had an audio recording device on.
There was a notice posted on the back of the driver’s seat saying there was a “trial” run for Grab to record audio. The window also had a sticker, but Sanchez only knew about it when she boarded the car.
“Why is this possible without my explicit consent? I can actually sue you, Grab,” she said on Facebook, with netizens agreeing with her.
