Palawan cruise terminal on track for completion this year
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) expects construction of the P1.5 billion cruise port facility in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan to be completed this year.
The project, which will be developed into seven phases, will have a 500-meter wharf, docking facility, passenger terminal and access road.
“Once completed, the cruise port facility can accommodate up to 10,000 passengers,” DPWH said.
Puerto Princesa is home to the Subterranean River National Park popularly known as Underground River which was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999 and voted as a New 7 Wonders of Nature in 2012.
It is also the gateway to other popular tourist destinations in El Nido, San Vicente and Taytay.
