Duterte says rich people like Ayalas, MVP have fooled Pinoys: ‘They are thieves, those sons of b*tches’
President Rodrigo Duterte is glad that the Ayalas and Manuel V. Pangilinan of the Metro-Pacific Salim group of Indonesia are all ears on his public rants against their abusive business practices.
“They are listening now because this is being broadcasted nationwide. Well it’s good for them to hear this. They have violated the rights of the people,” said Duterte in a speech.
“They are just distributors of water yet they have become millionaires, while the Filipinos have lost. That’s why I am angry at them,” he added.
Duterte has attacked the Ayalas and Pangilinan for foisting what he described as a “plunder-worthy” contract for Manila Water and Maynilad (a venture between Salim and Consunji groups).
But Duterte claimed that their abuses extend to their telecommunication businesses that he forced to give up their idle frequencies for his campaign financier, Dennis Uy’s Dito Telecommunity Corp.
“Perhaps you don’t fully understand this but the Philippines has been fooled by the rich people in the Philippines. Just like Ayala, just like Pangilinan, who owns Globe and Smart. They are all thieves, those sons of b******,” said Duterte.
“That is why I am angry at the rich people. There are many rich people who are good, those who have a conscience. But these guys, they own it all. All the businesses in the Philippines. The greed in you is insatiable,” he added.
