British financial firm Deloitte said an employee at its Net Lima Plaza Building office in Bonifacio Global City has coronavirus.
In a Facebook post, Deloitte said: “We can confirm that a colleague in our Deloitte Philippines office has tested positive for COVID-19. The colleague is currently in hospital receiving treatment and further tests, and Deloitte is supporting the colleague and family in every way we can.”
“The health and safety of our people, our clients and our community is our highest priority, and our immediate response has been to take all necessary actions to manage the situation,” it added.
Health authorities have yet to confirm whether the Deloitte employee was one of the two confirmed cases reported by the Department of Health last March 6.
“All necessary actions were promptly taken to inform those who might have come into contact with the colleague for the appropriate checks and provide any possible form of support,” said Deloitte.
“We continue to monitor and manage the COVID-19 situation in order to respond as necessary,” it said.
Deloitte had earlier reported that one of its staff in London was confirmed as a carrier following a holiday to Asia.
According to Consultancy. UK, Deloitte “has been ‘deep cleaning’ the floor on which the individual worked.”
Deloitte has has also told the building’s 20,000 staff that they could work from home.
