As the coronavirus continues to spread in the country, conglomerate San Miguel Corp. has assured the health and safety of its employees and others at the workplace.

In a statement, SMC said it remains business as usual for its group of companies as it continues to implement stringent measures to prevent the spread of the virus and protect its workforce.

“Following guidance from concerned government agencies, we have been religiously implementing enhanced sanitation measures and restricting all non-essential travels, among others,” SMC said.

“We also continue to review and update policies to ensure the highest level of safety for everyone entering our offices here and abroad,” the conglomerate added.

SMC likewise clarified that Alan Ortiz is no longer connected with the company since April 2017. He was fomer president of San Miguel Global Power Holdings Inc.

“There have been unconfirmed reports circulating in messaging platforms that Ortiz… is allegedly confined at a hospital in Paris due to coronavirus. We have no immediate information on this supposed development. We pray for the best and caution the public from spreading unverified information,” SMC said.
