Russian Ambassador Igor Khovaev could have the cure to the deadly coronavirus disease, which has already infected 53 people in the Philippines.

The envoy from Moscow, who recently visited Cebu City, said they have been using a medicine which Russian scientists previously developed that could cure COVID-19 patients.

Called the “Cicloferon,” the medicine relieves cough, flu and fever, Khovaev was quoted as saying by the Manila Bulletin.

Khovaev also described the medicine as something “as potent as our weapons.”

He said they have no more cases of the coronavirus since the medicine was used on patients.

Khovaev said it should be considered by the Food and Drug Administration and the Department of Health to address the growing number of cases in the country.
