Power firms were also ordered to implement a four to six-month staggered payment scheme for customers during the lockdown period.
Payments to start on June 15. Those consuming below 200 kilowatt hours a month can take the six-month option, while bigger consumers can pay in four months without penalties and other charges.
June bills must have a due date of July 1 the earliest to avoid another bill shock for customers.
ERC said the universal charge, often collected from power users, also remains suspended indefinitely.
