Smart slammed for network downtime

There’s nothing like an internet outage to ruin your day.

Some customers of Smart, Sun and TnT took to social media to vent their fury about the unplanned mobile phone and internet service outage.

Subscribers had a hard time connecting to the internet and experienced severe signal problems.

Smart only made the announcement 10:30 a.m today.

“You may experience degradation or loss of data services due to an on-going systems issue. We are working on normalizing data services and we will provide updates as efforts progress. Thank you for your patience,” read the tweet.

Soon after, Smart received a barrage of complaints from angry subscribers.

“Next time, have the decency to inform your customers before hand thru text blast if you’ll be doing any system upgrade or whatever! Not after the incident! #SmartDisconnectingPeople,” user @iloveHawie21 said.
