Netizens slam Meralco for quick response to actor Richard Yap’s high bill complaint

Netizens have slammed Manila Electric Co. for the alleged preferential treatment given to actor Richard Yap.

Yap took to social media to vent his displeasure at his Meralco billing, which he found ridiculously high. He was charged more than P55,000.

“A lot of people have been complaining about their @meralco bill. Instead of billing the average of 3months they have been multiplying our bill 3x. How did our bill end up this big when we’ve been paying our monthly bills?,” Yap tweeted.


Yap got a canned response in just 30 minutes from the power utility giant, which some people thought was unfair.

He clarified he just really wanted answers to justify the bill shock.
