PH lifts ban on non-essential travel

The government’s COVID-19 taskforce has approved the lifting of temporary restrictions on non-essential travel even after a huge spike in coronavirus cases in recent days.

Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque said Filipinos would be allowed to travel as long as they could present confirmed round trip tickets, visas, adequate travel and health insurance.

Deporting passengers must also sign a declaration form acknowledging the risks of traveling amid the global health crisis.

Only flights to countries accepting Filipino nationals will be approved, Roque said.

Upon return to Manila, passengers need to undergo COViD testing and quarantine.
