St. Lukes, Makati Med ICU beds reach full capacity amid surge in COVID-19 cases

Premier health institutions St. Luke’s Medical Center and Makati Medical Center announced that their ICU beds are full as the country struggles to keep pace with the coronavirus pandemic.

SLMC said its facilities in Quezon City and Bonifacio Global City have already reached full capacity of allocated COVID-19 ICU beds as of July 13.

“In this regard, we request the public to consider bringing critically ill COVID-19 suspects to alternative hospitals so they will receive immediate and utmost care. We will keep everyone updated once we reopen admissions for COVID-19 ICU beds,” SLMC said.

SLMC, however, remains open to accommodate non-COVID patients, including out-patient procedures.

The MVP Group’s MMC said its emergency room, regular wards and critical care units are also full and that it had to augment manpower to accommodate more patients.
