Walang kalaban! GMA zooms 40% on 1st trading day after ABS-CBN gets annihilated in Congress

Shares of GMA Network Inc. were sizzling on the first day of trading after the House buried the dagger on ABS-CBN Corp.’s franchise Friday, July 10.

GMA, which finally became the No.1 broadcast station with its rival not coming back on air, saw its stock surge by as much as 41 percent to P8.50 in early trading after closing at P6.03 on Friday.

A total of P410 million worth of GMA shares were traded just after an hour of trading.
