Sad: Ces Drilon jobless as ABS-CBN cuts down lifestyle divisions

Top-notch journalist Ces Oreña-Drilon has not been spared from the massive downsizing of ABS-CBN Corp. after it failed to get a fresh franchise from Congress.

Drilon, who has been with ABS-CBN since 1989, felt doubly bad about breaking the news about the layoffs beginning August 31.

She is both executive director of ANCX, the ABS-CBN news channel and head of
the new Lifestyle Ecosystem, which oversees Rated K, Matanglawin and Sports U.

Her stint with the network giant ends on Aug. 31 alongn with thousands of other ABS-CBN employees.

“This was one of the toughest days I had to face. Telling fellow kapamilyas that they would lose their jobs by end of August. I lost mine too,” she said in a tweet.

Drilon said Metro Channel would continue operating as well as all platforms of Creative Programs Inc. including CinemaOne, Jeepney TV, Metro, Style and ANCX.
