Manila Polo Club stays open despite visits from infected member

Manila Polo Club (MPC) has decided to keep its doors open despite one of its members testing positive for COVID-19.

In a message to members, MPC management saw no need to shut down the entire Club because the infected member went to the premises at the tail end of operating hours on July 18 and 20 at Manila’s Best.

MPC said only the Manila’s Best dining room would be closed for 24 hours starting August 3 with all its staff to go under quarantine and testing before going back to work..

The Club was only advised on August 2 about the member’s positive testing results taken on July 29.

“We will send a separate communication to those who may have had direct contact with the concerned Member, based on our contact tracing system, so they can monitor themselves for any symptoms of COVID-19, and seek medical assistance if needed,” said MPC.

MPC reopened on June 1 after being forced to shut down in March 17 due to the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine.
