A top executive of Manila Electric Co. has resigned just a year after taking over the post of Al Panlilio, right hand man of bilyonaryo Manny V. Pangilinan.

Victor Emmanuel S. Genuino has resigned as first vice president for retail services and corporate communications effective August 31. Genuino said he would “explore other opportunities.” Genuino has been Meralco vice president since 2011 as head of corporate business group and director of Miescor Logistics Inc. (MLI), Miescor Builders Inc. (MBI) and Customer Frontline Solutions.

Genuino replaced Panlilio when the latter jumped to PLDT-Smart as its
chief revenue officer in July last year.

When Panlilio left, Meralco credited him for “for about P300 billion
worth of revenues, inclusive of P62 billion of distribution revenues,
and led a 1,700-strong workforce… spearheaded Meralco’s strategic
shift towards digitalization and pushed innovations in customer
service practices and processes.”
