Manila Polo Club reports 2nd COVID-positive member; bar lounge, tennis court staff quarantined

Manila Polo Club revealed that a member has tested positive of COVID-19, its second confirmed carrier who visited the club in late
July.

The infected member played tennis three times and stayed at the Willow Root bar lounge four times from July 21 to 27.

He stopped going to the Club after experiencing symptoms COVID. He went into self-quarantine and was tested positive on August 4.

The Club, which has been fully transparent of its infected members
movements, has asked the staff in the tennis court and Willow Root to go on isolation and testing before going back to work. It has also conducted disinfection of these areas and followed up members who might have had contact with the COVID carrier.

“We request for your understanding as we cannot give any personal details or divulge any further information under the Data Privacy Act.

Rest assured that everything has been done in accordance with our health and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of our Members and employees,” the Club said.

“Let us remain safe and healthy by reducing potential exposure or spread of the virus by maintaining social distance, frequent hand washing, wearing of face mask, and practicing good cough and sneeze etiquette,” it added.

The Club reported its first infected member three days ago but decided to stay open.
