Who got rich? Andrew, RSA, Villar, EKR ace it in August; Ricardo Po gets in, Coyiuto out of list

Most bilyonaryos got knocked down in August but four managed to buck the trend by adding to their wealth count.

Megaworld’s Andrew Tan’s net worth jumped 21 percent to $2.3 billion which boosted him up six notches in the rankings to fifth spot.

San Miguel’s Ramon S. Ang raised his net worth by 18 percent to $2 billion.

Ang moved in to the Top 10 from 13th in July.

The two richest Filipinos also chalked up gains – Manny Villar up 6.4 percent to $5 billion and Ricky Razon up 2.3 percent to $4.3 billion.

Fourteen bilyonaryos on Forbes’ real-time rankings lost a total of $13.1 billion to $31 billion in August 2020, down nine percent from $34.1 billion in July 2020.

The Sy-blings accounted for the bulk of the asset drop as the six Henry Sy heirs chipped off $700 million to $13.4 billion month-on-month.

Balesin owner Bobby Ongpin lost the most at $600 million, down 33 percent to $1.2 billion in August.

Century Tuna owner Ricardo Po Sr. is back in the Forbes’ list after dropping out in December 2019 as his net worth climbed back to the $1 billion cut-off level.

Porsche dealer Robert Coyiuto Jr. fell out of the rankings in August.
