The Razon Group, owner of International Container Terminal and Services Inc. (ICTSI) and Solaire Hotel Casino, has donated over P1 billion to the government COVID-19 response, including quarantine and testing facilities and personal protective equipment.
Bilyonaryo Christian Razon Gonzalez assured the government that the Razon Group was ready to support efforts to contain the pandemic and alleviate the suffering of the public.
“Kung ano ang kailangan ng ating bansa, Secretary, gagawin talaga namin, whether it’s through Solaire or through ICTSI or through multiple cooperation with our regulatory agencies, itutuloy pa rin namin iyan, sir,” said Gonzalez in a media briefing with Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
The Razon Group and the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. recently finished the construction of a P225 million, 600-bed Mega Quarantine Center at the Nayong Pilipino complex in Paranaque City. The biggest quarantine facility in Metro Manila will open in November.
“We realized from the very beginning and in many of our discussions with the government that this was always going to be a public-private sector effort against COVID. And we have been extremely committed to this together with the IATF (Inter-Agency Task Force) and most especially, on the Solaire side, together with PAGCOR, who was really been the leading agency in working with us to build this facilities, particularly the one in Bagong Nayong Pilipino,” he added.
The Razon Group also bankrolled the retooling of the Ninoy Aquino Stadium quarantine facility, Rizal Memorial Coliseum quarantine facility, and testing centers at Enderun. This is on top of its PPE donations and rapid test kits.
