James Go amasses P101M PLDT shares, nearly doubles personal stake in telco giant

The 12th biggest shareholder of PLDT Inc. has pounced on the recent dip in the telco giant’s stock price to boost his stake.

Bilyonaryo James Go, the brother of the late taipan John Gokongwei, bought a total of P100.817 million worth of PLDT shares from September 29 to 30.

Go snagged a total of 75,000 shares at P1,340 and P1,354 each, nearly 10 percent off PLDT’s two year high of P1,485.

The PLDT director and JG Summit chairman has a total of 135,914 shares or .06 percent stake as of June 30, 2020. His recent purchase should move him closer to PLDT chairman Manny V. Pangilinan’s direct holdings of 265,611 shares or .12 percent.

JG Summit is the third biggest stakeholder in PLDT with 24.255 million shares or 11.23 percent.
