Saavedra-led Megawide to build 4,700 mass housing units for Century Properties subsidiary

Megawide Construction Corp. bagged three new contracts with PHirst Park Homes Inc. (PPHI) to construct over 4,700 housing units in Laguna and Bulacan.

The housing units will be developed using Megawide’s proprietary precast system — an engineering innovation that eliminates the use of traditional building processes and materials and offers greater value and space.

“Utilizing precast for our partnership with PHirst Park raises the bar on residential development. Megawide Precast delivers higher standardization and stability compared with conventional construction methodology and traditional concrete. It is highly customizable to the structural specification of clients and reduces construction timelines,” said Markus Hennig, Megawide EVP for business units.

Megawide sees precast as the engineering standard for the new normal since materials are prepared, cast, and cured off-site.

Hennig said precast requires less manpower on site and faster construction times, enabling clients and contractors to meet the stringent health and safety protocols mandated by the government, particularly for social distancing.

PHirst Park’s advocacy for sustainable housing and community developments, coupled with Megawide’s vision, will bring First-World products to more aspiring and deserving households in fast-growing urbanized areas around Metro Manila.

This will also complement the company’s foray into the horizontal infrastructure space and support its precast capacity expansion plans nationwide.
