Gabby Lopez’s son to lead ABS-CBN’s digital group

The son of bilyonaryo Gabby Lopez has been tapped to lead ABS-CBN’s digital group.

ABS-CBN announced the appointment of Eugenio Manuel “Jamie” Lopez IV during its organizational meeting on September 24 when his father resigned for “personal reasons” as chairman emeritus of the former network giant.

Jamie, who used to be based in California, is the son of Gabby with his first wife, Babsie Chuidian.

ABS-CBN is currently in transition phase as it has been forced to accelerate its shift to digital following the loss of its television franchise in May 2020.

Gabby is credited for making ABS-CBN the country’s most dominant media company in the last three decades.

He took over the firm in 1987 and retired as chairman in 2018 to give way to his cousin, Mark Lopez.
