Boardroom buying: Espinosa, Panganiban, Panlilio take cue from MVP, James Go in loading up on PLDT shares

Top executives and directors of PLDT are following the lead of bilyonaryos Manny V. Pangilinan and James Go who have racked up their personal stakes in the telecom giant in the last three months.

Based on PLDT’s regular report, Go (75,617 shares) and Pangilinan (19,300) picked up a combined P124 million worth of PLDT shares in the last three months.

The fellow directors, Meralco president and CEO Ray Espinosa (6,000 shares) and former Chief Justice Artemio Panganiban (3,600 hares), followed suit and bought a combined P12.5 million worth of PLDT shares from July to October.

Even Smart Communications president and CEO Al Panlilio (4,300) joined the action as he copped P5.6 million worth of shares during the same period.

COL Financial has rated PLDT a strong buy due to the strong growth of its mobile data business, dominant position in the home broadband business, new opportunities in the enterprise segment, its strong balance sheet and nearly 30 percent upside plus 5.9 percent dividend yield.
