Quarantine in paradise: Bilyonaryo spends over half a billion pesos for luxury villa at Amanpulo

One of the 50 richest Filipinos has reportedly bought an ultra-luxury villa to spend days or weeks in quarantine in one of the world’s most stunning island resorts.

A Babbler said the bilyonaryo splashed more than $10 million (or half a billion pesos) for an Amanpulo property a few months ago in the middle of the pandemic when the biggest urban centers in the country were in lockdown.

The Babbler said the bilyonaryo snagged the dream property from an old rich bilyonaryo whose family has several properties on the drop dead, gorgeous getaway for the rich and famous.

The bilyonaryo has reportedly been spending a lot of time on Pamalican Island even during weekdays, cooking up deals in the middle of paradise.

In a 2016 report on the Amanpulo property on Pamalican Island, Daily Mail said: “For the super wealthy (prices are as startling as the scenery), there are private villas for sale. A four-bedroom property, similar to the one occupied by Madonna who spent a whole month on the island, costs $6.2million.”

In the same year, Christie’s International Real Estate Hong Kong offered for sale Villa One, “a complex of four casitas all with a view overlooking the majestic expanse of the Sulu Sea and with direct beach access” for $12 million.

RETALK Asia said “Villa One is part of 20 villas at Amanpulo which can be rented out to guests by the managing Amanpulo Resort group, if you choose not to live in it full time.”
