Dennis Anthony Uy and his powerhouse board in Converge

A former Cabinet secretary, a former central bank governor, a partner in one of the country’s biggest law firms, and an accounting giant rebel.

These are the blue chip personalities tapped by bilyonaryo Dennis Anthony Uy and his wife, Converge co-founder and president Maria Grace Uy, to fill up the seats in his newly-listed, fiber broadband provider Converge Information & Communications Tech Solutions, Inc.

Former Public Works Secretary Ping De Jesus is the chairman of Converge and is a ninong of Uy. De Jesus used to be a an executive vice president of Converge’s rival, PLDT.

Former Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando Tetangco is a fellow Cabalen (Angeles City is Uy’s adopted hometown). This is Tetangco’s latest corporate gig since his retirement in 2017. He currently sits as director of Belle Corp., Toyota Motors Philippines, St. Luke’s Medical Center and Manila Hotel. He used to be a director of Philippine Airlines.

ACCRALaw senior partner and former Philippine Stock Exchange president Francis Lim is Uy’s personal lawyer.

Reyes Tacandong & Co. founding partner and chairman Roman Felipe S. Reyes is his long-time auditor. Reyes was then vice-chairman of SGV & Co. when he left the accounting giant in 2009 because he refused to be used as a dummy in the integration with Ernst & Young.

Uy considers them his long-time friends and advisers.
