Manuel “Beaver” Lopez Jr. was elected to the First Gen board on November 19.
Beaver will take over the seat vacated by his cousin, Gabby Lopez, who resigned due to “personal reasons” following the loss of ABS-CBN’s franchise.
Beaver is an advisor to the board of Rockwell Land where he has been director since 2011.
He is president of Rockwell Leisure Club and director of Lopez, Philippine Trade Foundation, Stargate Media, and Philippine Commercial Capital, Inc. (PCCI). He used to be a director of ABS-CBN, Sky Cable, and Call Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP).
Beaver’s entry into the board is part of the new wave of Lopez heirs taking over the family business.
His brother, Martin “Mark” Lopez, replaced Gabby as ABS-CBN chairman.
First Gen is led by Beaver’s cousin, chairman and CEO Federico “Piki” Lopez, who has been designated as chairman of Lopez Holdings.
