Semi-rah-rah! Consunji siblings load up P223M shares of family’s coal firm

The Consunji siblings are bullish on their coal company.

The brothers and sisters gobbled a total of P223 million worth of Semirara Mining on November 20 at P11.84 to P11.90 per share.

Semirara closed at P12.64 on November 25, 44 percent off its 52-week high of P22.60.

Semirara president and COO Maria Cristina C. Gotianun led the pack buying with P56 million worth of shares followed by chairman and CEO Isidro Consunji, directors Edwina Laperal and Josefa Consuelo C. Reyes with P44.6 million each; and director Jorge Consuji with P33.4 million.

Isidro and Cristina are the most aggressive buyers among the siblings as they have been racking up Semirara shares over the past few months.

Isidro has jacked up his Semirara stake by 250 percent to 24.46 million shares since July 2020.

Cristina’s stake has ballooned by 64 percent to 20.497 million shares over the last five months.

The Consunji siblings, ranked No. 14 on Forbes 50 richest Filipinos with a net worth of $1.3 billion, own 70 percent of Semirara.
