Ernest Cu promises first world network for Globe subscribers

Globe Telecom Inc. is stepping up its expansion which it expects to complete next year as it seeks to build a first world network for its subscribers.

“We are undertaking a massive network upgrade to build a first world network that can deliver a reliable and consistent experience to power all of our customers’ digital needs, “ said Ernest Cu, president and CEO of Globe.

Cu said the company is deploying more cell sites nationwide to expand coverage and increase data capacity.

Globe is also accelerating fiber roll out to Filipino homes to expand wired data connectivity.

Globe has been awarded by Opensignal with the Global Rising Star Award for Most Improved Video Experience in the first half, with a score of 32.7 percent or an increase of 14 percentage points.

Globe expects to complete the deployment of 1,300 new cell sites by yearend to add to the 1,050 new sites installed and 10,876 upgrades to 4G/LTE..
