Senator Sherwin Gatchalian woke up to horrible news on Wednesday (January 6) after learning that his credit card has been hacked. The worst part: He’s charged over P1 million for food.
Gatchalian shared on Twitter a screenshot of the transactions made by the hacker through the Food Panda delivery app.
“My credit card has just been hacked! May nag order ng P1M worth of food sa Food Panda in less than an hour. Ano yan lauriat para sa buong barangay???,” he asked.
Based on the transactions, the hacker placed four orders, with three amounting to over P300,000 each, and one order which totaled P96,000.
A furious Gatchalian wants to know how the hacker was able to access his account and switched the cell phone number, which resulted in the confirmation of the orders despite the hefty price tag.

The hacker managed to change my registered phone number so he got the OTPs. He knew what he was doing. I just don't know how he will eat a million worth of food.

It was not only Sherwin who had been victimized by hackers. His brother, Valenzuela Mayor Rex Gatchalian, told Bilyonaryo that he had been hacked sometime in January last year.
Rex said the hackers made between five and six transactions amounting to one dollar each.
