Century Pacific sets aggressive meatless campaign

Recognizing its role in helping transform the global food system, the Po family, through Century Pacific Food Inc., is gearing up for the grand launch of its own plant-based meat products as it positions itself in the vegetarian food market which has been gaining in popularity.

In a statement, CNPF said it is ready to offer its ‘unMeat brand’ products to the retail market over the next few months.

Initially launched late last year to institutional customers, unMeat serves as a healthy meat alternative made with non-GMO plant-based ingredients with zero cholesterol and trans-fat, while remaining a good source of protein and fiber.

The move is in line with the group’s goal to become a healthier food company and to do business in a more sustainable and responsible way.

UnMeat serves as the patty sister company of Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures ‘ Good Burger available at all Shakey’s outlets across the country.

Apart from being good for the health, the supply chain for plant-based products requires lower consumption of various natural resources such as water, land, and energy, and generates less greenhouse gas emissions compared to the production process for meat, CNPF said.
