RSA’s son John Paul Ang joins SMC board

The eldest son of bilyonaryo Ramon S. Ang has been elected to San Miguel Corp.’s board of directors.

In a disclosure to the stock exchange, SMC said John Paul Ang, the president and CEO of Eagle Cement Corp. since 2008, replaces independent director Reynaldo G. David who passed away in December last year.

SMC said the younger Ang “has all the qualifications” to fill the vacancy in the company’s board.

“He brings with him years of top managerial experience in the cement industry in the Philippines and in Malaysia, beginning with experience business operations to top level management decision making, which experiences allowed him to be equipped with the necessary skills to lead their cement business, which has helped grow into being an industry leader that it is today,” the conglomerate said.

Paul graduated with a degree in Bachelor of Arts Major in Interdisciplinary Studies at the Ateneo de Manila University.
