AboitizPower unit renews supply deal in Nueva Ecija

AP Renewables Inc. (APRI), a subsidiary of AboitizPower, has inked a new contract to supply power to Nueva Ecija II Electric Cooperative (NEECO II) Area 1 for a period of five years.

APRI will supply 41 megawatts (MW) of power to the 10 municipalities within the franchise area of NEECO II Area 1, higher than the 33 MW it supplied when the partnership started in 2018.

“We are extremely honored to continue this journey and stand once again alongside NEECO II Area 1 in its pursuit of reliable and clean energy for households, businesses, and the communities in its franchise area,” AboitizPower first vice president for commercial operations Juan Alejandro Aboitiz said in a statement Friday.

AboitizPower earlier said four companies participated in the bid to supply the energy requirement of NEECO II Area 1.

APRI president and COO Dennis Jordan said conducting a competitive selection process during a lockdown period “is one of the hurdles that both teams had to overcome.” (PNA)
