With 6,000 megawatthours (MWh) battery and 600 MW diesel backup, the solar facility will be the biggest in the country when completed in 2024.
The project will generate employment, help provide stable energy supply, mitigate climate change impact and reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels.
According to the company, solar energy use has advanced due to battery storage technologies, which have been proven to help address the intermittency of solar power and help smooth out the variations in how solar energy flows to the grid.
Meanwhile, the diesel generator shall serve as backup capacity during the times when solar PV and batteries are not able to supply required power.
