Bilyonaryo Frank “Iron Man” Lao is going back to his true passion as he plots the reopening of the famous Chinese restaurant beside Lucio Tan’s Century Park Sheraton Hotel.

Lao and See does not only plan to reopen Century Restaurant’s Malate branch, the partners want to expand the popular Chinese resto to other sites in Manila, Makati, Quezon City and San Juan.

The partners are currently finalizing terms with Tan for a new lease agreement. The restaurant will be managed by See’s son.

The Babbler said Lao’s takeover of Century would cement his hold as the country’s Chinese restaurant king.

Based on initial plans, Babbler said Choi Garden would expand in malls, Century would specialize in small family gatherings, and Gloria Maris for big events like weddings.

The Babbler said Lao cooked up the deal while waiting for the arrival of three deep sea mining vessels to be used by his partner, Apollo Global Capital, in extracting magnetite iron ore off the shore of Cagayan.
