Who got rich in Feb? Bilyonaryos gain 16% led by Lucio, Andrew, Sy-bling boys, Ongpin, Injap

Majority of the country’s ultra-wealthy opened the Year of the Ox on a bullish note.

The 15 Filipinos on Forbes real-time ranking of the world’s richest humans had a combined assets of $42.6 billion as of end-February 2021.

This is 1.6 percent or $700 million higher than their aggregate wealth the previous month but a whopping 17 percent or $6.2 billion better than their total fortunes in February 2020, or a month before the COVID lockdown.

Eight of the 15 bilyonaryos gained an identical $100 million each during the period – Lucio Tan, Andrew Tan, the Sy-bling boys (Hans, Herbert, Big Boy, and Harley), Bobby Ongpin and Injap Sia.

Only two bilyonaryo saw their wealth shrink during the period – the richest Pinoy, Manny Villar ($200 million) and Ramon S. Ang ($100 million).

Here is how the uber-rich Pinoys stacked up in Februrary 2021:

1) Manny Villar – $7 billion, down 3%

2) Enrique K. Razon – $4.9 billion (unchanged)

3) Lucio Tan -$3.3 billion, up 3.125%

6) Andrew Tan – $3 billion, up 3.5%

4) Hans Sy – $2.9 billion, up 4%

5) Herbert Sy –$2.9 billion, up 4%

7) Henry Sy Jr. – $2.7 billion, up 4%

8) Harley Sy – $2.7 billion, up 4%

9) Tessie Sy-Coson – $2.6 billion (unchanged)

10) Tony Tan Caktiong – $2.4 billion (unchanged)

11) Elizabeth Sy – $2.3 billion (unchanged)

12) Ramon S. Ang – $2.2 billion, down 4%

13) Roberto V. Ongpin – $1.2 billion, up 9%

14) Injap Sia $1.2 billion, up 9%

15) Ricardo Po Sr. – $1.1 billion (unchanged)
