Binay on Tuesday (April 6) said the app/portal developed by the village is unauthorized and not in any way linked and coordinated with Makati City’s own vaccination program.
“We strongly condemn the reckless act of certain officials of Brgy. Dasmariñas in creating and operating the unauthorised Covid-19 vaccine registration app/portal,” she said.
Binay said the village’s app wasn’t only a “brazen violation” of government rules, but also sowed confusion and frustration among the barangay’s well heeled residents.
She said the lives of senior citizens were put at risk as some of them lined up at the Colegio San Agustin school grounds inside the village on the premise of getting the COVID-19 vaccine on a “first come, first served” basis.
“We are horrified at the prospect of elderly residents coming in droves to the vaccination site and risking exposure to the virus, only to be sent home because there is no scheduled vaccination in CSA,” Binay said, threatening charges.
“We shall not tolerate these illegal and irresponsible actions of certain barangay officials… We shall pursue all legal courses of action against violators, whoever they are,” she added.
