The DOTr railway sector will implement mass testing for employees from the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3), the Philippine National Railways (PNR) and Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 (LRT-1 and 2).
As of Tuesday, 131 of the 860 MRT-3 workers that underwent swab tests turned positive for the virus. The railway has a total of 3,284 employees.
For the PNR, which has a total of 1,720 personnel, 1,013 were subjected to swab test and 131 tested positive.
For the LRT-1, the tests yielded 117 positive cases of COVID-19 among the railway’s 1,185 employees.
Meanwhile, 571 LRT-2 employees had been tested and 143 personnel were found to be positive of COVID-19.
More will be tested out of the company’s 1,277 total manpower.
