Cousins Jaime Urquijo, Jaime Alfonso Zobel mark second year on ACE Enexor board

The next generation of Ayalas are doing just fine in their second year on the board of the family-controlled oil and gas exploration firm.

Jaime Z. Urquijo and Jaime Alfonso E. Zobel de Ayala were re-elected for another term as directors in ACE Enexor during its annual stockholders’ meeting on 14 April 2021.

The cousins joined the company in 2019 after the Ayala group replaced the Phinma group as controlling shareholders.

The 31-year old Urquijo is the son of Bea Zobel Jr. while the 29-year old Zobel is the son of her brother, Jaime August Zobel de Ayala.

Aside from being directors, Urquijo is a member of the committees on personnel and compensation, and board risk management and related party transaction; while Zobel is a member of the executive committee.

Other members of ACE’s board are Augusto Cesar D. Bengzon, John Eric T. Francia, Raymundo A. Reyes, Jr., Ma. Aurora D. Geotina-Garcia, Alberto A. Lim, Raphael Perpetuo M. Lotilla, and Mario Antonio V. Paner.
