Acea Subic Beach Resort’s clandestine operations were discovered after the wife of broadcaster Anthony Taberna, Rossel, shared photos of their “couple’s getaway” out of town.
Taberna even promoted the 50% promo for bookings in the property, which is branded as a “work from paradise” promo that runs until May 31.
The DOT got wind of Taberna’s post before she managed to delete it.
“Following receipt of a social media post involving an accommodation establishment in Subic allegedly accepting guests from the NCR Plus Bubble, the DOT through its Region 3 Office is now conducting verification procedure and shall release a formal investigation report on the matter,” Puyat said.
The Tourism chief reminded the public that non-essential travel is still banned for those who are part of the NCR Plus bubble while the MECQ is in effect until May 14.
