EKR, Herbert, RSA got richer in April; Villar, Gokongwei, Zobel, Lucio Tan slip

Losers outstripped gainers in the Philippines’ richest list in April with the majority of bilyonaryos’ wealth unchanged.

The richest Filipino, Manny Villar, shed $400 million or six percent to $6.6 billion in April from the previous month.

New entrants Lance Gokongwei and Inigo Zobel also had significant dips for the month.

Gokongwei lost 17 percent to $1 billion while Zobel gave up seven percent to $1.3 billion.

Rounding up the losers is Lucio Tan who spilled $100 million or three percent to $3.2 billion.

Ports and casino tycoon Ricky Razon led the gainers with a $200 million or 4.2 percent raise in wealth to $5 billion.

Newly-minted San Miguel CEO Ramon S. Ang stepped up five percent to $2.1 billion month-on-month.

Bilyonaryo Herbert Sy added $100 million to raise his assets to $2.8 billion last month with the rest of the Sy-blings’ fortune unchanged.

7) Henry Sy Jr. – $2.5 billion unchanged

8) Harley Sy – $2.5 billion unchanged

9) Tessie Sy-Coson – $2.5 billion unchanged

10) Tony Tan Caktiong – $2.2 billion unchanged

11) Elizabeth Sy – $2.2 billion unchanged

12) Ramon S. Ang – $2.1 billion up 5%

13) Inigo Zobel $1.3 billion down 7%

14) Ricardo Po Sr. – $ 1.2 billion unchanged

15) Roberto V. Ongpin – $1.2 billion unchanged

16) Lance Gokongwei – $1 billion down 17%
